Here are two Gingerbread House themed “How To” writing activities to use during your Gingerbread Man studies. Great for a STEM activity – have them make a house with materials provided after they write about it.
“How to Build a Gingerbread House” is 3 pages long and walks your students through the process of procedural writing. Page 1 asks them to simply sketch their gingerbread house. Page 2 Asks them to write or draw the materials needed and explain how to build it with first, next, then and last prompts. Page 3 is optional if they need more space or you want to do a final draft. It is also a basic generic writing paper you can use in your literacy center.
“How to Decorate A Gingerbread House” is one page and encourages students to draw a plain gingerbread house and decorate it step-by-step. As they decorate each step, they write what they did in the paragraph below the illustration.

**Back to School BINGO is a great way to reinforce recognition of basic school supply words, subject words and more! **
Words include: ruler, Computer Lab, glue, scissors, Social Studies, Science, P.E./Gym, school bus, Art, Library or Media Center, Music, Lunch, Reading, Writing, backpack, crayons, Recess, Math, pencil and markers.
I have found that pairing Kindergarteners up on a card works best because many of them have never played Bingo before.
My 1st graders are good to go with their own card and if I have more than 25 students, some will eagerly want to share a card with a friend.
It even makes a Great Center once you’ve taught them how to play. The students love being the caller and handing out the prize to the winner!
In this set, you will find Calling Cards to cut out and use and 25 different Bingo cards.
You will need to cut some squares out of construction paper to use as Bingo chips ahead of time, if you don’t have something like that already.
We have a lot of fun reviewing basic school words with this game and stickers are a perfect prize for the winning pairs!
Have your students write to your Summer Cookout or Picnic prompts at the end of the year with these themed writing papers. Or, place copies of these at your Literacy Center for students to write on their own topic of choice! Each design is available in 3 different writing line options to meet the needs of your students.
Includes 12 pages in 4 designs:
BBQ - 3 writing line options.
Picnic Food Spread - 3 writing line options.
Picnic Basket - 3 writing line options.
